(Nassau) 2-HR Mandatory Live Refresher for NYS Concealed Carry HoldersNassau County Rifle and Pistol Range 2-HR Mandatory Live Refresher for NYS Concealed Carry Pistol Permit Holders
Pursuant to 38 RCNY §5-03 sub. a-2: After completion of the NYS mandated 18-Hour Concealed Carry training, licensees are required to submit within 6 months of each renewal, a completion of two hours of a live-fire range training course that meets the requirements of §400.19(19)(b) of the Penal Law.
(2) Hour Live-Fire Course Curriculum Topics Consist of:
Following the live-fire training, each student must demonstrate proficiency as required by New York State conducted by the Duly Authorized Instructor.
The cost is $55 and will require a pistol permit and previous completion of the NYS Mandatory 18-hour Concealed Carry training. |

COURSE DESCRIPTION: NYS CONCEALED CARRY FIREARM SAFETY TRAINING The New York State Concealed carry firearms safety training requires (16) hours of -in-person live classroom instruction and (2) hours of live-fire training by Duly Authorized Instructors. Safety Quest Limited is authorized to provide this instruction. A certificate will be issued upon completion of the NYS required 18 hours of training. (16) Hour In-Person Classroom Instruction Consists of:
Following completion of the (16) hour in-person classroom instruction each student must score a minimum of 80% on a NYS required written test covering the course curriculum. (2) Hour Live-Fire Course Curriculum Topics Consist of:
Following the live-fire training, each student must demonstrate proficiency as required by New York State conducted by the Duly Authorized Instructor. There is an additional $50 ammo fee for qualifying with a Simunition weapon payable at the door by cash, check, or money order.

(Dark Storm) HR 218 QUALIFICATION – L.E.O.S.A.The qualifications of this course comply with the Federal Law; HR-218 (Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act). The qualification card given upon completion can be used as identification to show the person who qualified, has met the letter of the law, with regard to the carry of weapons in all fifty states of the United States America, its Territories and Commonwealths. The course takes approximately two and a half hours to complete. We first go over weapon safety, then discuss the course of fire (Fifty Round D.C.J.S. Certified Course). Once that is finished we review the HR-218 requirements of the Federal Bill so you know what is expected of you when carrying your weapon out of state. Participants will then go down range for the qualification (minimum of seventy percent). After qualification a photo identification card is issued to the retired officer. This issued card and their police identification card is required to be carried when they are armed. The cost of this program is seventy-five dollars ($75.00) (Revolver or Semi-Auto). This course can be combined with the N.Y.S. Security Guard Annual Firearms renewal course for a discounted price. ($150) All participants are REQUIRED to bring their Retired Police ID card, Pistol License, Weapon of Choice, Magazines, Holster and 50 rounds of Ammunition.
POLICY CHANGE: Going forward we will have a single price for HR-218 Qualification ($75.00). When you qualify with a Semi-Auto or a Revolver your card will reflect both because the permit is no longer weapon specific. You will be able to carry a REVOLVER OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC concealed, under HR-218, no matter what type of weapon you qualified with.
Training location is Dark Storm Industries which is on the Sunrise Highway South Service Road. Coming from the West, pull onto the South Service Road from Sunrise Highway at Exit 47.
Coming from the East, you will pass Dark Storm Industries and continue to Exit 46 and exit onto Connetquot Ave NORTH and NOT the North Service Road. On Connecquot, go south and return onto Sunrise Highway heading East, back to Exit 47 and exit onto the South Service Road to get to Dark Storm Industries.

(Dark Storm) 8 Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security GuardsAll individuals who take this course are required to qualify with a minimum of seventy percent (70%) on a fifty round shooting course (minimum passing is 35 rounds within the designated target area). All participants after listening to the “Use of Force” lecture and review will take a ten question test with a minimum passing grade of seventy percent (70%). It is required that all participants bring their current N.Y.S. Security License and pistol permit when they come to class. The cost of this program is one hundred dollars ($100.00) for qualification with two weapons. Each additional weapon is twenty-five dollars ($25.00) |

DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE St James Fire House SUBSTATION #2 Open to the PublicSaint James Fire House Substation #2 Defensive Driving is a classroom course in accident avoidance techniques based on more then 50 years of the Empire Safety Council's traffic Safety testing research. Certified instructors will teach you how to recognize hazards, understand the defense and act in time to prevent accidents. This course is approved by the D.M.V. for insurance premium and point reduction purposes.
