47 Hour Firearms Training @ Nassau County Range (Uniondale)

 DCJS New York State Certified 47-Hour Firearms Course

This course fulfills the mandatory training requirement for registered New York State Licensed Security Guards seeking to transition from Unarmed Security Guard status to Armed Security Guard status.

The program provides comprehensive instruction in basic firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, tactical shooting, weapon care and cleaning, and the proper use of force, including deadly physical force. Training also includes shotgun and rifle handling. The course is designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced shooters, with a practical and structured approach to skill development.

Participants must achieve a minimum score of seventy percent (70%) on all shooting exercises and written examinations to successfully complete the program.

Prerequisites:

• Valid New York State Pistol Permit

• Valid New York State Security Guard License

• Possess a personal pistol with an outside-the-belt holster

• Approximately 700 rounds of ammunition (14 boxes of 50 rounds each)

Course Details:

• Duration: 47 hours

• Tuition: $725.00 (ammunition not included)

• Includes all teaching materials, range time, targets, and use of safety equipment

Upon successful completion of both the shooting qualification and written examination, students will be awarded an official certificate of completion.

 This course will meet SIX times at The Nassau County Rifle & Pistol Range on the following dates:

  Monday, November 3^rd, 2025    -    8:00 am to 5:30 pm                

 Wednesday, November 5^th, 2025    -    8:00 am to 5:30 pm 

 Thursday, November 6^th, 2025    -    8:00 am to 5:30 pm              

 Friday, November 7^th, 2025    -    8:00 am to 5:30 pm                    

 Monday, November 10^th, 2025    -    8:00 am to 5:30 pm              

 Wednesday, November 12^th, 2025    -    8:00 am to 5:30 pm        

 Payment must be received before the start date of the class. You can pay by credit card upon registration or over the phone.

All participants are REQUIRED to bring their Driver's license, Pistol License

Weapon, Magazines, Holster and  at least 700 rounds of Ammunition.
